NEHRU GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS INCUBATOR (NGI TBI) is catalyzed and supported by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) and Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Its head office is located at Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology Campus, Lakkidi, Mangalam, Palakkad, Kerala and its extension centre is at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Block, Thirumalayampalayam, Coimbatore Tamilnadu. It aims to guide and encourage all entrepreneurial ideas, whether for a product, service, equipment, novel application, business model technique or tool.

It is the only Technology Business Incubator in India that promotes Technology-based Enterprises and Start-up companies, in the domain of Healthcare and IoT.

Department of Science & Technology (DST) was established in May 1971, with the objective of promoting new areas of Science & Technology and to play the role of a nodal department for organizing, coordinating and promoting S&T activities in the country. The Department has major responsibilities for specific projects and programs.

To continuously shape a seamless science, technology and innovation ecosystem, which is cutting-edge, collaborative, inclusive, relevant and aligned to our national aspirations and priorities and build a vision for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Mission:
Within the mandates of DST in the creation of S&T infrastructure and manpower, support to basic science research along with S&T led innovation and startups, technology development and seed the cutting-edge, futuristic areas of S&T, by devising suitable programs, schemes and technology missions to address socio-economic challenges and create opportunities to empower its stakeholders.

The Technology Translation, and Innovation (TTI) Division of Department of Science and Technology (DST) plays a pivotal role in driving scientific and technological advancements in the country. A key component of the TTI Division is the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) Program, which focuses on nurturing start-ups and individual innovators. This program exemplifies the division’s commitment to translating research into practical applications, fostering innovation, and promoting entrepreneurship in technology.

The TTI Division facilitates collaborations with industry and academia, supports policy development in science and technology, and provides crucial funding for innovative projects and for conversion of Proof-of-Concepts for technologies /techniques/ processes/ products into advanced prototypes for validation and demonstration. The Division has also supported many projects for the development of instruments/devices/technologies at various R&D institutions.
